Had my first bout with tear gas and chemical water.
Anwar Ibrahim, his wife and Ambiga had just arrived right in front of Dataran Merdeka. The crowd got a little excited and somebody breached the barrier. As soon as that happened the police FRU took that as their cue.
Tear gas was fired right into the heart of the crowd and all hell broke loose. Dataran Merdeka was chaos as everyone ran for cover down Tun Perak and Tunku Abdul Rahman. I got separated from my group and the tear gas made me start bleeding like a monkey from my nose.
A lot of people were down on the side of the road, some vomiting some crying. A number of people passed salt around and this helped the stinging pain in the lungs and eyes a lot.
I saw a lot of old people by the side of the road and yet the police continued to fire tear gas all over. I ended up taking cover in Little India and resting there to recover.
All are bothers here with the same cause!
I have successfully gotten off at Masjid Jamek with Andy Ng.
On the way on the LRT from Taman jaya and the LRT is already packed with yellow.
People should not be afraid of their governments. Governments should be afraid of their people.
